While it should be remembered that it took Apple’s IPhone nearly a year to start coming out with a substantial amount of apps, we Pre enthusiasts are clamoring for more real, useful apps for our beautiful new phones.

To date, the most requested Palm Pre Apps are the following:

  • Message Forwarding
  • Video Recording
  • Yahoo, MSN, and AIM instant messaging apps
  • E-Trade
  • Flash Video plugin

These apps are all undoubtedly coming, but when will they be here? Hopefully soon, or cell phone riots may start breaking out in front of Sprint stores everywhere.

More details on what’s going on with the catalog will be coming soon, but for those of you who have the Palm Pre already, you can download any of the following apps directly from the App Catalog over the air from your phone:

Fandango - browse movie theater listings, and even use the Pre’s GPS to find the closest theater to you

Connect4 - everyone’s favorite vertical checkers game!

AccuWeather - detailed weather conditions and forecasts right to your phone

LinkedIn - access the power of your professional network while you’re on the go

ExpressStocks - get stock prices and updates right to your handset

Mobile by CitySearch - find local business listings, reviews, and more

Where - local information, news, events and more

FlightView - add flights to your calendar, get instant notifications, reminders, etc

LikeMeMobile - find the perfect place to eat, stay, or meet people
